This weekend I've been given a new* 2015 Jeep Cherokee to drive for inspection purposes. What questions about it does Oppo have?
*Backstory: This car was sold new by our dealership and threw a check engine light with only 100 miles on it. The part to fix it (I don't even know what it was but it was no big deal) was backordered and the customer was quite upset. Our factory rep got involved and tossed in a goodwill certificate, and presto, we took it in as a trade and the customer got a new car.
For those unfamiliar, this goodwill certificate I speak of is a cash allowance the manufacturer gives to cover the depreciation of an almost-new car so it can be traded back in with no financial consequence to the customer. It's used in situations where there's a problem with the car not severe enough to be lemon law, but the customer is entirely justified in their dissatisfaction. It's a tool that corporate uses to keep customer satisfaction up and avoid complaints, especially publicly/over the internet.
Anyway, now it's fixed, and I get to drive it around all weekend to make sure the light doesn't come back on. Sooooooo... whatcha wanna know? Bear in mind this is a completely bare bones Cherokee without a single option, so it's not going to have any of those cool gizmos we're heard so much about.

Does the four cylinder make enough power or do you need to upgrade to the V6?

Is it a Trailhawk?

Is it the one with the new ZF gearbox with like a million speeds?

If you smash the nose with a hammer, will it be an improvement?

Does the CEL actually have a frowny on it?
Does never hitting 9th gear bother you in daily driving, or is it something you don't really notice?
How often do you need to use these goodwill certificates?

How annoying is the electric parking brake?

Nope, the CEL is just a CEL.
You don't notice not hitting 9th. I took it for a 20 mile cruise on the highway and had no idea.
This is the third goodwill we've had this year, and we've moved about 1000 new cars YTD. So not often. It's totally in the manufacturer's hands though, we do not determine who gets them and who doesn't, though we DO alert them if we think the situation justifies one.

The four cylinder is adequate. So far I've done highway cruising, bumper to bumper traffic, suburban driving, and some twisty country roads. It's not a rocket by any means but I never felt it lacking in power. One gripe on the country road, though- if you put your foot to the floor, it takes a second to finally downshift as low as it can go rather than just a couple gears.

If by a million you mean nine, yes.

Someone already smashed it.
No... wait. That's how it's supposed to look.

Yep, it knees.
The electric parking brake sucks. It works great but yeah, it's an electric parking brake. I like actually feeling myself engaging/disengaging the brake, thankyouverymuch.

As mentioned above it's completely base model, stripped out as they come. Not a single option.

It's better than a sharp stick in the eye.
But really, it's nothing super amazing, but as A-B transportation it works well. I'll put it this way- if I was traveling and needed a rental car and they handed me the keys to one I wouldn't be upset, but I wouldn't be excitedly running out to the parking lot either.
I like small and sporty cars so I'm finding it a bit big for my tastes. It's not that high off the ground or extremely tall or long, but it feels really, really wide. I guess that's how we like it here in 'murica.
I won't be dreading driving it for the next two days but I'll be glad when Monday comes around and I can try and find something to drive with a stick.

i hear that it engages when the car is in park, and if the battery dies you are fucked and can't push it.

All the times I've put it in park it never automatically engaged.
